Inside a three-storey villa in Shanghai’s historic centre, WHYGARDEN’s showroom presents a thoughtful conversation between natural textures and contemporary design.
Founded in 2020 by Meng Ye and Gretta Zhao, WHYGARDEN is a flourishing interior design brand spotlighting the creative perspective of Chinese designers. It aims for fashionable furniture pieces with a global influence, whilst capturing timeless elegance.
Wander through soaring ceilings and curated living spaces — from warm-toned lounges to a Parisian-style retreat on the top floor. Soft curves meet metallic details, and a palette of beige and dark wood subtly reflects Chinese philosophical ideas: light and shadow, breath and movement, stillness and flow.
WHYGARDEN Shanghai Home is open Tuesday to Sunday 10:00-18:00, by reservation only.
